Conductor Comparison Program by CTC Global is an engineering analysis tool that helps transmission and distribution professionals evaluate and compare overhead conductor options for new builds and reconductoring projects. It streamlines side-by-side assessments of electrical and mechanical performance so teams can make faster, data-driven decisions about capacity upgrades, loss reduction, and clearance compliance.

Key capabilities:

  • Compare conventional conductors (e.g., ACSR, AAAC, ACSS) with advanced options, including CTC Global’s ACCC conductors
  • Model line performance under user-defined conditions (span geometry, temperature, wind, solar loading, and other environmental factors)
  • Estimate ampacity, thermal performance, sag and tension behavior, and approximate line losses
  • Generate scenario-based analyses to quantify potential capacity gains, energy savings, and related operating benefits
  • Produce clear tables, charts, and printable reports for stakeholders

Benefits:

  • Accelerates feasibility studies and option screening
  • Supports investment justification with transparent assumptions and outputs
  • Helps reduce risk by highlighting constraints and trade-offs early in the design process

Note: Results are intended to support preliminary engineering and planning decisions. Final designs should be validated with detailed studies and applicable standards.
